Job summary

Nectar is seeking a Tech Lead Manager in Palo Alto to own the technical vision for core engineering teams. You’ll build systems that ingest social data, run AI agents in real time, and deliver analytics-driven insights to customers.

You will shape product strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product and Design as a technical peer, while driving architecture, code quality, and scalable processes across a growing team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years managing a team.
• Strong architectural intuition and hands-on full-stack skills.
• Ability to shape product strategy and partner with Product/Design.
• Experience with AI/Large Language Models and modern AI workflows.
• Comfort in fast-paced startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Define technical roadmap and architecture for scalable systems.
• Lead by example: write production code and review PRs.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar.
• Interact with customers to align tech with product needs.
• Hire and assess engineering talent.
• Drive RFC processes, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, post-mortems.
• Own 2-5 person team management duties.
