Job summary
TikTok is hiring a Tech Lead Manager for the Agentic AI Platform within the PGC team in San Jose. You will define the technical strategy, architect enterprise-grade AI agent platforms, and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable capabilities globally.
We seek hands-on leaders with strong AI systems knowledge, LLM expertise, and experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in CS, AI, Math, or related field.
- Hands-on experience building production-grade AI systems.
- Strong understanding of LLMs, including Transformers, SFT, RLHF, and major model families.
- Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
Responsibilities
- Define the technical strategy and architecture for enterprise-grade Agentic AI platforms.
- Design and build agent frameworks, multi-agent systems, workflow orchestration, and extensible tool ecosystems.
- Develop evaluation frameworks and observability to improve agent performance.
- Partner with infrastructure teams on data infra, security, and governance.
- Own the Agentic AI platform roadmap and deliver scalable AI capabilities globally.
- Collaborate with global ops and product teams to identify automation opportunities and drive impact.
- Drive platform adoption, cross-functional collaboration, and execution of AI initiatives.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across AI/ML, Engineering, Platform Product, and Technical Operations.
- Foster innovation and adoption of AI-native development practices.

- Define the technical strategy and architecture for enterprise-grade Agentic AI platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Design and build agent frameworks, multi-agent systems, workflow orchestration, and extensible tool ecosystems.
- Develop evaluation frameworks, harness engineering infrastructure, observability, and data flywheels to continuously improve agent performance and reliability.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to advance AI-native architectures, including data infrastructure, security, and governance.
- Own the Agentic AI platform roadmap, delivering scalable AI capabilities across TikTok's global business ecosystem.
- Collaborate with global operations and product teams to identify automation opportunities, optimize workflows, and drive measurable business impact.
- Drive platform adoption, cross-functional collaboration, and execution of strategic AI initiatives.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across AI/ML, Engineering, Platform Product, and Technical Operations.
- Drive technical innovation, engineering excellence, talent development, and adoption of AI-native development practices.
- Master's degree or above in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or a related technical field, with strong expertise in software engineering, distributed systems, or machine learning.
- Hands-on experience building production-grade AI systems, agent platforms, or enterprise-scale AI infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of LLM technologies, including Transformers, SFT, RLHF, and leading model families (GPT, Claude, Llama, Qwen).
- Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel, including customization and integration.
- Experience with harness engineering, data annotation platforms, synthetic data pipelines, or AI training infrastructure.
- Experience operating large-scale agent systems, including concurrency, fault tolerance, state management, and observability.
- Expertise in advanced RAG, retrieval optimization, context engineering, and agent evaluation.
- Open-source contributions or publications in AI/ML-related fields.
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $308000 - $588000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
