Standard Metrics, formerly known as Quaestor, is an automated financial collaboration platform that helps investors and founders to move faster together and make better, forward-facing decisions. We're a full-time team of product builders, investors, and optimists, rebuilding investor relations from the ground up. Standard Metrics is backed by 8VC and Spark Capital along with other leading software VCs and angels and is currently a trusted resource for many of the top venture capital firms in the world.

We're looking to add an experienced Tech Lead Manager to our team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this is an opportunity to have a big impact, not only on the core product but also on the culture and direction of the company. We're looking for someone who's excited about going outside their comfort zone and wearing many different hats. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing teams, leading technical direction, and building web applications; if you've built them from scratch, that's even better.

While many of us are working remotely, we're prioritizing candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area for now.

What You'll Do
  • Manage a pod of full-stack engineers and be willing to jump in to code as needed
  • Partner with product managers in developing and executing product roadmap
  • Help develop the company's technical strategy and roadmap in coordination with the product and business teams
  • Coordinate with the broader engineering team to spec features and communicate timelines
  • Mentor engineers on the team and help them to grow and achieve their career goals
  • Recruit, hire, and maintain an excellent team
  • Help identify pain points and build work flows to remove blockers for the engineering team
What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience with 3+ years of experience in managing and optimizing small to mid size software teams
  • Strong record of delivery on product outcomes
  • Strong record of building and delivering web applications
  • Expertise in a modern web framework (Django, Flask, Express, etc.)
  • Expertise in a modern SPA framework (React, Angular, Vue, etc.)
  • Past experience working in startups and financial technology companies is a plus

For our employees located in the USA, we aim to pay at or above the market rate of US-based tech hubs like San Francisco or NYC. For international roles, we aim to pay top of market for your country. The estimated annual salary for this role is between $200,000-$240,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
