Job summary

Rippling is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the HRIS Flow Platform team, the core workflow orchestration layer powering HR, Payroll, IT, and Finance products globally. This strategic role combines hands-on architecture with people leadership to scale a high-impact internal platform.

You will guide a senior team, drive platform modernization, and partner with Product, Infrastructure, and other engineering teams to accelerate delivery across web, mobile, APIs, and AI-driven experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with backend or distributed systems foundations.
• Prior engineering management or team leadership experience in a high-growth environment.
• Experience designing or scaling workflow orchestration systems or internal platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a senior/staff engineer team responsible for a key internal platform.
• Drive modernization and technical strategy of the HRIS Flow Platform across HR, Payroll, IT, and Finance.
• Build scalable workflow infrastructure for web, mobile, AI, and API-driven workloads.
• Improve platform performance, reliability, and developer velocity at scale.
• Stay hands-on in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and partner teams to deliver capabilities.
• Balance long-term architecture with rapid, iterative delivery in a changing environment.
• Support hiring and team growth as platform adoption expands.
