Rippling is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Payroll Processing core platform, shaping architecture, scalability, and long-term technical vision for services that process billions of dollars monthly with global impact.

You will lead end-to-end feature delivery, drive the technical roadmap, mentor engineers, and work with Product Management, Payments, Risk, and Accounting to deliver cohesive platform-wide solutions that scale globally.

• Lead technical architecture for the next generation of our payroll processing engine.
• Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact features, from design to production deployment and monitoring.
• Drive the technical roadmap for the Payroll processing team, identifying bottlenecks, reliability improvements, and architectural refactors.
• Turn ambiguous technical challenges into concrete, actionable plans for the team.
• Exercise expert technical judgment in building scalable, maintainable, and extensible systems with data integrity across services.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers, lead design reviews, and promote best practices for code quality, testing, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Payments, Risk, Accounting and other engineering leaders to deliver platform-wide solutions.
