Job summary

Chicago Trading Company is seeking a hands-on engineering leader in Chicago to direct a small team of engineers while maintaining involvement in code. You will own the developer loop end-to-end, including the build graph, remote caching and execution, test policy, and CI pipelines, and drive consolidation of codebases into Bazel in a monorepo.

You will bring deep experience with C++, Java, and Python builds, and be adept with Bazel or similar systems, migrating large codebases to a monorepo.

Qualifications

• Experience leading build/CI for an engineering org of 100+ people.
• Fluent in C++, Java and Python builds and deep in Bazel or similar systems at scale.
• Experience migrating large codebases to Bazel and a monorepo.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers while staying hands-on, setting direction and removing obstacles.
• Own the developer loop end-to-end: build graph, remote caching and execution, test policy, and pipeline speed and cost.
• Consolidate CTC's codebases on Bazel in a monorepo model, replacing fragmented build and CI setups.
• Ensure live trading systems ship daily without breaking a release pipeline.
