Job summary
Astera Labs is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead Automation Engineer to own internal automation platforms and drive SG&A automation across engineering and business teams.
You will write code, design schemas, and ship features, using AI coding platforms daily. This role emphasizes ownership, practical delivery, and setting technical direction as the platform grows.
Salary range is $135,000 to $170,000 depending on experience, with potential discretionary bonus and benefits.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience owning a production web application end-to-end.
- Strong backend (Python) and frontend experience.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS APIs and cloud APIs.
- Hands-on technical lead with architecture ownership.
Responsibilities
- Own internal automation platforms end-to-end — architecture, data model, background sync/scheduling, and roadmap.
- Design and ship full-stack features: backend services, RBAC, approval workflows, and frontend UI.
- Maintain and extend integrations with external systems — SaaS tools, cloud infrastructure, and directory services.
- Build systems of record or dashboards for asset tracking and cost/usages visibility.
- Automate SG&A workflows with IT, HR, and Finance stakeholders while policy remains with the owners.
