Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is assisting a law firm in Boston, MA in recruiting a mid-level Intellectual Property Associate focused on complex technology transactions and IP counseling. The role combines transactional work with strategic IP guidance, offering exposure to partners and clients on sophisticated deals.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a JD with Massachusetts admission.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant IP/tech transaction experience.
• Experience with IP licensing and counseling.
• Massachusetts admission to the bar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including software and SaaS agreements.
• Advise on IP risk allocation in commercial transactions, including ownership, licensing, and use of technology and proprietary materials.
• Support clients in the commercialization of technology-enabled products and services.
• Assist with IP advisory work, including trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement strategy.
• Conduct copyright and content-use analysis, including media clearance and fair use.
