Job summary

WilmerHale is looking for a highly motivated Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join their thriving IP practice. This lawyer will work on patent prosecution and litigation matters in various locations including New York City.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, and 2-4 years of post-JD experience in patent prosecution and IP litigation. An admission to practice before the USPTO is also required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of post-JD experience in both patent prosecution and IP litigation.
• Admission to practice before the USPTO.
• Must be licensed to practice law in good standing in NY, CA, MA or DC.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO.
• Developing and managing strategic IP portfolios for clients.
• Conducting pre-litigation diligence and drafting pleadings.

Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Graduate Degree or industry experience in these disciplines
