Job summary

Huntington Bank is seeking an Engineer Lead to drive technical direction for Java/Spring Boot back-end and React front-end initiatives. You will architect RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven components within open-system platforms, while mentoring engineers and guiding modernization efforts.

You will partner with Architects, Product Owners, and DevOps to deliver scalable, secure, compliant banking applications, leveraging CI/CD and cloud-native practices.

# **Description****Engineer Lead – Java / Spring Boot / React / Open Systems****Duties and Responsibilities*** Provide **technical leadership and direction** for the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications using **Java, Spring Boot, React, and open-system technologies**.* Lead the development of scalable, secure, highly available, and maintainable **full-stack applications and microservices**.* Define and drive technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, security, engineering standards, and business objectives.* Lead the design and implementation of **RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven services, and distributed applications**.* Provide hands-on technical leadership in **Java, Spring Boot, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern open-system development**.* Evaluate existing applications and lead modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy platforms to **open-system, API-driven, cloud-ready architectures**.* Establish and promote software engineering best practices, coding standards, design patterns, reusable components, and development methodologies.* Review technical designs, application architecture, source code, and implementation approaches to ensure quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.* Lead technical discussions and provide recommendations on application architecture, frameworks, tools, and technology solutions.* Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, helping team members improve their technical skills and software engineering
