Job summary

Impact Scale is seeking a Director of Technology to guide day-to-day engineering operations, translate technical strategy into reliable software delivery, and lead high-performing squads in Vancouver, WA. You will manage engineering managers, tech leads, and developers, shaping processes, standards, and architecture to scale with the business while maintaining quality and velocity.

This role collaborates with Product Managers and Designers to balance roadmaps with capacity and to hire

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in engineering management.
• Proven track record scaling internal engineering processes and delivering cloud-native platforms.
• Strong background as a Senior Engineer with hands-on code review and architectural guidance.
• Deep expertise in modern SDLC, DevOps, and issue tracking tools (Jira/Linear).
• Excellent communication for leading high-throughput APIs and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery lifecycle of the engineering organization, ensuring scope, timing, and quality.
• Manage engineering managers, tech leads, and developers, mentoring and career planning.
• Standardize and optimize agile/scrum methodologies, CI/CD, code reviews, and testing protocols.
• Oversee system architecture decisions to keep the platform modular and maintainable.
• Partner with Product and Design to balance roadmap commitments with capacity.
• Manage day-to-day engineering resources and hiring pipelines.
