Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Tech Audit Manager to lead audit teams, oversee engagements and advance the firm’s client services. This role offers a path to Partnership and works with seasoned CPAs across industries.

You will manage planning, staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting while guiding staff and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Travel and leadership are essential parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license.
• Experience auditing commercial clients, including SEC registrants.
• 5+ years in public accounting; led multiple engagements.
• Strong understanding of PCAOB auditing standards.
• Familiarity with US GAAP.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and projects.
• Leadership, mentoring and staff supervision.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team in planning and executing audits, reviews or compilations to deliver high-quality client service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of audit engagements from staffing to financial reporting.
• Supervise engagement staff, seniors and supervisors; promote open communication with the partner.
• Collaborate with seniors, supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and accounting/regulatory issues.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently to meet deadlines.
• Create and track engagement budgets to identify inefficiencies.
• Conduct discussions with team members on evaluations and coaching.
• Contribute to professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world‑class client service to clients
• Overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion
• Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication to the engagement partner
• Collaborating with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
• Creating and track engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license
• Qualified candidates must possess experience auditing commercial clients, including SEC registrants, and have a strong understanding of PCAOB auditing standards and related regulatory requirements.
• At least 5 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem solving skills
• Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments

The compensation for this position ranges from $135,000-$210,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
