Job summary

Aspire Bakeries LLC is seeking a Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician for our Santa Ana, CA bakery. You will ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance through sampling, testing, inspections, and documentation, supporting the Quality Management System.

Key tasks include monitoring GMPs, HACCP, and GFSI standards, performing routine inspections, and escalating issues to protect consumers and maintain high product quality. Weekend availability and 2nd shift support the role.

About the Role

We are seeking a Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at our Santa Ana, CA bakery. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be accountable for ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance through product sampling, testing, inspections, and documentation activities. This role is critical to protecting consumers, meeting customer expectations, and maintaining compliance with food safety and quality management standards.

• Shift: 2nd Shift
• Weekend availability: Required

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $22.50 - $24.75

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations and company food safety standards.
• Conduct product sampling, testing, and documentation activities to support the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Monitor adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP requirements, and GFSI standards.
• Perform food quality evaluations and identify product defects or non-conformances.
• Conduct routine bakery inspections to verify sanitation, pest control, personnel practices, and operational compliance.
• Escalate food safety and quality concerns and initiate product hold procedures when required.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce customer complaints and enhance product quality.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the food manufacturing or food industry environment.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles.
• Ability to perform accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
• Proficiency with computers, including spreadsheet applications.
• Strong mathematical, written communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• College-level coursework in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Training or experience with GFSI-recognized standards such as BRCGS or SQF.
• Previous quality assurance or food safety experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment.
• GMP certification or advanced food safety training.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and quality evaluations.
