Job summary

FedEx is seeking a capable supervisor to lead teams in the sort, warehouse, ramp and yard areas, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to procedures.

You will coach employees during sorting, maintain safety standards, and respond quickly to operational needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six months FedEx handler experience preferred, with three months in the relevant area.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages of heavier weight with equipment or assistance.
• Ability to coach and train employees during sort operations and communicate effectively in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Leads employees in complex sort, warehouse, ramp and/or yard functions while ensuring proper handling of packages and accuracy of paperwork.
• Ensures proper methods are followed to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Job description

Leads employees in complex sort, warehouse, ramp and/or yard functions in the proper handling of packages/freight, accuracy/completeness of necessary paperwork and proper methods are followed; thereby, ensuring effective operations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Minimum Experience

Six (6) months FedEx handler experience which preferably includes 3 months work experience In work area which has the open position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to successfully complete basic and re-currency training. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. With appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and communication skills. Ability to coach and train employees during sort operations. Ability to prioritize assignments and make quick decisions with available information. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and delegate responsibilities in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment. Good understanding of FedEx systems and operations.

Job Conditions

Non-Covered Safety Sensitive Position; Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Shift: Monday-Friday 2:00pm-12:00am
