Job summary

Team8 is building a security-focused infrastructure layer and seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the cloud production environment end-to-end, from architecture decisions to operating the stack.

You’ll design and implement AWS/Kubernetes production environments, CI/CD pipelines, and an IaC foundation using Terraform and Helm, pushing for SOC 2 readiness and strong security controls.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We're building the security infrastructure layer from the ground up, and we're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own it end to end. You'll be one of the first infrastructure hires on the core team - designing and building our AWS/Kubernetes production environment from scratch, setting the standards the rest of engineering will build on, and making the architectural calls yourself rather than inheriting someone else's.

What you'll do

• Own our cloud infrastructure end to end --- design, build, and operate production AWS/Kubernetes environments from the ground up
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows that let a small, fast team ship safely and often
• Define the IaC foundation (Terraform, Helm) and the DevOps/SRE standards, tooling, and practices the organization will grow into
• Build security into the infrastructure by default --- secrets management, hardened workloads, least-privilege access, and the groundwork for SOC 2 and customer security reviews
• Drive observability, reliability, and performance across a modern microservices stack --- you define what "healthy" means and how we'll know
• Partner directly with engineering and the founders on architecture and technology decisions

What we're looking for

• 5-7 years of hands-on DevOps/Infrastructure experience in cloud-native production environments
• Deep experience with AWS (or GCP/Azure) --- you've made the architecture decisions, not just executed them
• Strong production Kubernetes experience at scale, including the failure modes
• Expert-level IaC --- Terraform, Helm --- with a track record of building a standardized, maintainable foundation
• Strong CI/CD and automation background; you treat infrastructure as a product
• Proven experience building infrastructure from scratch, ideally in an early-stage startup --- comfortable with ambiguity and with owning decisions without an existing playbook
• Security-minded by instinct: secrets, identity, network segmentation, supply-chain hygiene, and compliance readiness are things you've actually implemented

Nice to have

• Experience in a cybersecurity company or working closely with security teams
• Experience achieving SOC 2 / ISO 27001 readiness
• MLOps --- infrastructure for ML workloads, GPU environments, and model deployment pipelines
• Multi-tenant SaaS and cloud cost optimization (FinOps)
