Job summary

UMATR is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the deployment, upgrades, and operation of the platform across cloud and customer-hosted environments. You will work on systems handling large data volumes with emphasis on efficiency, observability, security, and reliability.

The role is hands-on with significant ownership in a lean engineering team, shaping the platform through decisive actions and scalable cloud practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with a major cloud provider, IAM, VPC, networking, container services, serverless, and object storage.
• Strong production experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK.
• Proven experience owning CI/CD end to end.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, least-privilege access, and multi-account environments.
• Experience operating reliable infrastructure at meaningful scale.
• Strong observability, incident response, uptime, and cost optimization mindset.
• Comfortable writing TypeScript and working with infrastructure tooling.

We’re partnering with an early-stage technology company building high-performance data infrastructure for engineering and security teams working with very large volumes of logs and operational telemetry.

They’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of how the platform is deployed, upgraded, and operated across both managed cloud environments and customer-hosted infrastructure.

You’ll work on systems processing extremely large data volumes, where efficiency, observability, security, and reliability are critical. This is a highly hands-on role with significant ownership in a lean engineering team, where your decisions will directly shape the platform.

What You’ll Do

• Own cloud infrastructure and deployment processes across multiple environments, accounts, and regions.
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Pulumi, Terraform, or similar.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across core services including IAM, VPC, networking, container services, serverless functions, and object storage.
• Own CI/CD pipelines from development through production deployment.
• Design secure cloud architectures following least-privilege principles and strong enterprise security practices.
• Implement private networking, cross-account access patterns, and tightly scoped permissions.
• Improve infrastructure observability, reliability, and incident response.
• Identify opportunities to improve cloud efficiency and reduce infrastructure costs at scale.
• Support deployments into both company-managed and customer-hosted environments.
