Job summary

Touchstone Climbing Inc. is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic youth coach for Berkeley Ironworks, with coaching shifts in the late afternoon and early evening. This role supports the development of young climbers in a fun, safety‑minded environment.

You will coach the Dev Team/Camp/Club, teach climbing techniques, run strength and injury‑prevention programs, and help create engaging sessions. Starting pay is $20/hour for Club/Camp and $21.50/hour at the Comp Team level, with part‑time

Qualifications

• Climbing experience in bouldering/top rope/lead with solid fundamentals.
• Ability to explain techniques clearly to youth athletes.
• Patient, enthusiastic, and able to work with kids of different ages.
• Creative in crafting fun, effective coaching sessions.
• Willingness to work as part of a team to provide an exceptional climber experience.
• Available Mondays and Wednesdays 4:30 PM–7:30 PM, and Fridays 4:30 PM–6:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead strength training programs tailored to youth climbers, emphasizing injury prevention.

• Collaborate with other coaches to design and implement high-quality training programs for Team Touchstone.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes growth, learning, and a love for climbing.

Berkeley Ironworks is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach to work with our ------------- All coaching shifts occur between 3:45 PM and 7:30 PM. The ideal candidate will bring a strong climbing background, a passion for coaching youth, and a creative approach to instruction. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of climbers in a supportive and engaging environment. This job starts ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coach the Dev Team and/or Camp and Club, focusing on bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.

Qualifications:

• Climbing Experience: Proficient in bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing with a solid understanding of climbing fundamentals.
• Coaching Skills: Ability to explain climbing techniques clearly and effectively to youth athletes.
• Passion for Youth Development: Patient, enthusiastic, and capable of working with kids of different ages and skill levels.
• Creative Instruction: Innovative in creating fun, engaging, and effective coaching sessions.
• Collaboration: Excited to work as part of a team to provide an exceptional experience for our climbers.
• Availability: Must be available to coach on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Competition Climbing Experience: Experience in competitive climbing is desirable, but not required.

Compensation and How to Apply

Starting pay is $20 an hour for Club and Camp roles and $21.50 an hour when coaching at the Comp Team level.
