Team Member Services Specialist – Hillcrest Health & Living
Location: Home Office – Bellevue, NE
Service Line: Hillcrest Health & Living – Home Office
Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a personable, detail-oriented, and proactive Team Member Services Specialist to join our Home Office Human Resources team.
Our Team Member Services team supports team members and leaders throughout the employee experience—from hiring and onboarding through benefits, leaves, employee support, and separation. This role is often one of the first impressions of the HR department, so we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, builds relationships easily, and approaches each interaction with a “how can I help?” mentality.
At Hillcrest, our mission is simple: Inspiring people to live their best lives. As a Team Member Services Specialist, you will provide hands‑on HR support to team members and leaders while helping ensure important processes are accurate, timely, organized, and handled with a high level of service.
What You’ll Do
As a Team Member Services Specialist, you will support a variety of HR functions while serving as a trusted resource for team members and leaders across Hillcrest.
You Will
- Facilitate post‑offer and pre‑onboarding activities for new team members.
- Support the new‑hire process and help ensure required items are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with the setup and delivery of General Onboarding.
- Support new team members with required documents, photos, and onboarding‑related questions.
- Maintain accurate and organized team member records and files.
- Process team member information accurately and efficiently within HR systems.
- Support payroll‑related updates, education records, benefit information, and other employee‑data changes.
- Assist team members with benefit questions and enrollment.
- Process benefit deductions, COBRA‑related items, and associated billing.
- Support team members and leaders with FMLA and leave‑of‑absence processes.
- Assist with Workers’ Compensation and unemployment administration.
- Conduct exit interviews with departing team members.
- Prepare and distribute recurring HR and operational reports.
- Track items such as performance reviews, required notices, and other team member‑related deadlines.
- Respond to team member and leader questions in a timely, professional, and approachable manner.
- Research questions and issues rather than simply passing them along.
- Use critical thinking to identify the right next step when the answer is not immediately clear.
- Maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive team member information.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and the overall team member experience.
- Step in and help wherever needed to support the Team Member Services department.
The role supports the employee lifecycle across hiring, onboarding, benefits, leaves, employee records, reporting, and separation.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who brings both HR knowledge and a strong service mindset.
This is a role for a person who likes being busy, takes ownership, and does not wait to be told every next step. You should be comfortable asking questions, digging into an issue, and using good judgment to determine the best path forward.
Critical thinking is a big part of this role. HR does not always come with a perfectly packaged answer, so we need someone who can gather information, connect the dots, recognize when something does not look right, and follow through until the issue is resolved.
Just as important is how you interact with people. The Team Member Services Specialist is often a team member’s first introduction to HR. We want that experience to feel helpful, welcoming, responsive, and professional.
Ideal Candidates Will Have
- 1–2 years of HR Generalist, HR Specialist, HR Coordinator, or similar Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting multiple areas of HR rather than only one specialized function.
- A naturally helpful and service‑oriented approach.
- A personable communication style and ability to build relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
- Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- A proactive, go‑getter mindset.
- Ability to recognize what needs to be done and take appropriate action.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organization and follow‑through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without losing track of details.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
- Comfort answering questions while also knowing when additional research or escalation is appropriate.
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solutions‑focused when priorities change.
- Strong technology skills and the ability to learn HR systems quickly.
- A team‑first attitude and willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of Human Resources Generalist or similar broad HR experience preferred.
- Experience supporting HR functions such as onboarding, benefits, employee records, leaves, recruiting, or employee support strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working in an HRIS or similar employee‑management system preferred.
The underlying position requires at least one year of experience performing human resources, benefits, or recruitment functions.
Why Hillcrest?

This position is a great fit for someone early in their HR career who is ready for broader exposure to the full employee lifecycle and wants to continue developing into a well‑rounded HR professional.
You will be part of a Home Office team where initiative matters, questions are encouraged, and helping each other is part of how the work gets done.
