Job summary

Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, MN is seeking an HR Administrator to build positive team relations by administering policy and coordinating team member events, while delivering high guest service in line with department standards.

Responsibilities include planning events, coordinating recognition programs, maintaining communications, processing unemployment claims, handling employee relations, tracking attendance in the HRMS, and supporting staffing with transfers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years administrative and/or people experience with an emphasis on employee wellbeing.
  • Experience processing unemployment insurance and handling counselings.
  • Strong background in employee advocacy, conflict resolution, and emotional support.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY: To create positive team member relations through the administration of policy and procedures as well as the organization of team member events. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your department's guest service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with planning, organizing and implementing team member events such as picnics, holiday parties, feasts, giveaways, etc. and track results ensuring budgetary guidelines are followed
  • Monitor, coordinate and deliver team member recognition programs such as luncheons / annual banquet, and service awards
  • Update and monitor team member communications such as bulletin boards, electronic systems, newsletter, Gaming License information, etc.
  • Assist with processing unemployment claims
  • Process and mediate work-related issues (including harassment complaints and investigations) and follow up accordingly
  • Process team members' attendance and performance related counselings and administer attendance tracking in the HRMS
  • Assist staffing with rehire status issues and internal team member transfers
  • Be a resource for team members and management
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • 2 years administrative and/or people experience with an emphasis on employee wellbeing
  • Experience processing unemployment insurance and handling counselings
  • Strong background in employee advocacy, conflict resolution, and emotional support

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to walk and / or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day
  • Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel and stoop
  • Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
  • Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Must have good eye hand coordination
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed primarily in administration building but may include going onto the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke, and outdoors for team member events
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Occasionally overtime may be required
  • Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
