People’s Food Co-op is seeking Clerks in the Grocery Department to ensure an awesome shopper experience. Clerks replenish and merchandise groceries, and maintain knowledge of product selections and locations.

The role requires 3-4 days and nights per week, with a pay rate of $14.50 per hour. Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, life products, disability, 401(k) with employer match, and staff discount.

Description

People's Food Co-op Clerks in the Grocery Department play a critical role in ensuring our shoppers leave the store with an awesome experience. Grocery Clerks are responsible for replenishing and merchandising all grocery products. They also maintain a working knowledge of product selections and locations.

This position will work 3-4 days and nights per week working a combination of week nights and weekends.
The pay is $14.50 per hour.

1. Position Responsibilities

• a. Provide prompt and friendly service, including answering questions and providing samples.
• b. Maintain knowledge of product, provides information to customers regarding use and preparation.
• c. Ensure department cases, shelf areas and prep areas are clean.
• d. Order products as directed.
• e. Receive product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy.
• f. Prepare items for stocking, stocks, rotates, merchandises and faces product according to procedure.
• g. Maintain back stock areas according to department standards.

2. General Responsibilities

• a. Know and adhere to quality standards for customer service as instructed by the department manager.
• b. Adhere to all guidelines around product recommendation and information.
• c. Know and promote the cooperative values and principles.
• d. Communicate respectfully with customers and coworkers at all times.
• e. Prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus.
• f. Operate with a sense of teamwork.
• g. Report for scheduled shifts on-time and ready to work.
• h. Understand and adhere to organizational and department policy and procedures.
• i. Accept direction willingly and follow through with delegated tasks.
• j. Perform tasks consistently at an acceptable rate as outlined by department manager.
• k. Maintain safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.
• l. Perform other duties as assigned.

• a. Perform other tasks assigned by the Department Manager
