Job summary

NSK Precision America, Inc. (NPA) seeks a CNC machinist for 1st shift (5am - 3:30pm, Mon-Thu) in Franklin, IN. The role involves operating lathes and milling machines, setting up tooling, and inspecting parts to blueprint specifications.

Candidates should have CNC experience and familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. High school diploma or equivalent required; advancement possible. The position focuses on achieving tight tolerances, maintaining tooling, and formatting setups

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience required, for at least 2 years preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/d drawings and specifications.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauge, etc.).
• Set up and operate CNC equipment, adjust controls to achieve tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathes and milling machines on first shift.
• Set up tooling and fixtures for machining cycles.
• Inspect parts as they exit the machine for conformance to drawings.
• Read drawings and ensure parts meet tolerances.
• Prepare and maintain machine tools and equipment.

Job description

This position will be on 1st shift, 5am - 3:30pm, Monday - Thursday.

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills/experiences:

• CNC experienced for at least a couple of years
• Have potential to advance into machinist position
• Have experience with caliper, micrometers, off-sets, touch-offs, height gauge, depth and ID micrometer, slant gauges
• Move machine control to adjust machine
• Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines
• Set up, machine tools
• Set up and operate another machine tool during machining cycles
• Set or reset machine to requiredmachining sequence to machine parts in tolerance
• Clean machine, tooling, and parts
• Set up and operate assigned equipment necessary to machine componentparts
• Inspect parts as they exit the machine
• Read and interpretmachine parts drawing specifications
• Operating equipment and machine tools
• Adjust machine settings to machine parts according to specifications and to maximize machining capabilities
• Start machine and observe cutting operationsSharpen tools and set up tooling
• Fabricate parts to specifications on blueprint
• Set up and operate computer numerical control machines by programming control instructions into machine control units
• Select appropriate set up tooling and fixtures for machines
• Determine accuracy of machine operations
• Set up and operate another machine tool during taper controlled machining cycles
• Produce parts within required tolerances.
