Job summary

jh is seeking a retail associate to provide fast, friendly customer service and manage cashier duties in a busy store in Michigan. You will itemize and total purchases, verify age for restricted items, process payments, balance the cash drawer, receive merchandise, and stock shelves.

The role requires reading and following written instructions, strong English communication, and the ability to work weekends/holidays in a fast-paced environment. Prior POS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Some high school or equivalent with ability to read and perform math.
• Experience: Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner in a fast-paced setting.
• Availability: Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Physical: Able to operate a POS/cash register and lift light items.

To obtain payments for goods while maintaining a high level of customer service.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

PREREQUISITES:

• Education: Some high school or equivalent with the ability to read and perform math. Ability to read, speak and understand English.

• Availability:Must be available to work weekends and holiday
• Physical:
• Must be able to work any area of the store when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.
• Position requires bending, standing, walking and repetitive use of hands and arms the entire workday.
• Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Position requires the ability to handle exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals.
