Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Co. is seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor in Blairsville, PA, to lead the machining team and oversee production of metallic and nonmetallic workpieces.

You will coordinate with maintenance, engineering and other supervisors to ensure timely delivery of quality parts. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and manage three shifts onsite, enforce safety policies, and drive process improvements to reduce setup and machining times while maintaining compliance with company

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of supervisory experience in machining.
• 5 years experience with 3-4 axis CNC machines, tool setup, editing and inspection.
• 2-3 years experience managing schedules, workflow, safety, personnel and equipment.
• Experience with Mastercam and related planning tools.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to work overtime including weekends and backshifts.
• Back-up to Maintenance supervisory personnel when needed.

Responsibilities

• Establish working relationships with union leadership to insure a cooperative environment.
• Coordinate on-site contractors for craft training and repair of equipment.
• Plan and schedule for 3 shifts, and coordinate Machinist work with Maintenance Planning Department and Maintenance Team.
• Enforce safety policies by conducting inspections and counseling your team as applicable.
• Organize training and provide documentation of training for experience in SAP_PM.
• Prepare technical documentation including drawings, specifications, spare parts list, and update work-orders in CMMS.
• Support the written safety program to reduce accidents and ensure safety of all employees.
• Comply with all safety standards or rules set forth by the Company.

About The Role
As a Machine Shop Supervisor, you will manage activities of workers. These workers contribute to production machining of metallic or nonmetallic work pieces. You will apply knowledge of machine shop procedures, machine tool setup, operating techniques, and production machining methods. You will be a focal point of all machining operations within the plant and requires coordination of work with other department supervisors, engineering and management to ensure delivery of quality parts.
You will report to the Maintenance Manager and be located at Blairsville, PA. You will support this role 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities

• Individual must comply with all safety standards or rules set forth by the Company.
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent plus five or more years directly related experience supervising in a Machining manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 5 year experience with operation of 3 and 4 axis CNC Machines, tool set-up, editing and inspection in a production environment
• Minimum 2-3 year experience managing schedules, workflow, safety, personnel and equipment
• Experience with software applications such as Master Cam
• Experience with planning, scheduling, estimating, requisitioning and reporting
• Read blueprints and technical drawings
• Can work overtime which could include weekends and backshifts.
• Back-up to Maintenance supervisory personnel, covering time off
  

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
