Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a leadership-level manufacturing engineer to drive SQDCPME objectives and continuous improvement across the plant. The role involves coaching teams, reducing systemic abnormalities, and ensuring production flow aligns with standards.

Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years in production, experience interfacing with hourly, salaried staff and management, and at least 2 years teaching operating system principles. Union experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of production experience in multiple plant departments.
  • Strong ability to present continuous improvement ideas to plant management using data.
  • 2+ years teaching an operating system and its principles.
  • Experience working in a Union environment, interfacing with the union.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and confirm manufacturing OS standards are applied and adhered.
  • Facilitate results process through standard processes and tools.
  • Develop, coach, and support to achieve SQDCPME objectives.
  • Coach and provide feedback on resolution of abnormalities; validate closure of concerns.
  • Drive continuous improvement on systemic abnormalities to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide resources to maintain production flow and confirm critical inputs meet standards.
  • Plan maintenance tasks, monitor completion and effectiveness, drive improvements.
  • Coordinate work plans (downtime, shutdown, changes) and ensure execution.

What you'll do...

Develop, coach, and support to achieve SQDCPME objectives. Drive continuous improvement on systemic abnormalities to prevent recurrence. Create a proactive performance-driven culture based on Focus, Collaboration, and Excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and confirm that manufacturing operating system standards are being applied and adhered to throughout the area
  • Facilitate the results process through the utilization of standard processes and tools
  • Develop, coach, and support to achieve SQDCPME objectives
  • Coach, teach, and provide feedback on the resolution of abnormalities, and validate closure of concerns (facilitates interim containment actions)
  • Drive continuous improvement on systemic abnormalities to prevent recurrence
  • Provide necessary resources to maintain production flow and confirm critical inputs are being performed to the acceptable standard(s)
  • Plan maintenance tasks, monitor completion and effectiveness, and drive improvement and/or coaching opportunities
  • Drive the creation and coordination of work plans (downtime, shutdown, and manage the change), and ensure the team is executing. Evaluate the effectiveness of work plans
  • Plan and implement revisions and improvements to meet the new standards as the manufacturing operating systems mature
  • Enable a culture of learning through the demonstration of effective communication skills
  • Create a proactive performance-driven culture that listens, reacts, and supports (effective communication, education, listening, trust) to capture the hearts and minds of the people
  • Mentor, nurture, and develop teams to work together, modeling the Ford values and expected behaviors
  • Ensure basic administrative activities are completed, as required

You'll have...

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree- in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related degree; or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • 5-8+ years of production experience, working in numerous departments
  • 5+ interfacing with plant hourly, salaried personnel, and plant management
  • Strong ability to present continuous improvement ideas to plant management, using data
  • 2+ years teaching an operating system and all its principles
  • Experience working in a Union environment, primarily interfacing with the union

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
