SFMC Home Lending is looking for a motivated and experienced Team Loan Officer / Loan Officer with approximately 2–5 years of mortgage and call center experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a sales-focused mortgage professional who is comfortable working with leads, managing a pipeline, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the loan process from application through submission to processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Team Loan Officer assists designated Loan Officer(s) with originating and processing mortgage loans while providing a high level of service to prospective and existing clients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contacting and following up with leads generated through the company’s existing book of business and referral sources and identifying opportunities to submit qualified leads to Loan Officers.
- Completing accurate and thorough initial loan applications and all applicable checklists.
- Requesting required borrower documentation and following up as needed to obtain outstanding items.
- Calculating and validating borrower income to ensure accurate loan application information.
- Securing interest rate locks consistent with the rate quoted to the client.
- Preparing and sending prequalification letters.
- Preparing and delivering initial loan disclosure packages.
- Reviewing and preparing loan documentation for submission to Processing.
- Serving as a primary point of contact for incoming client phone calls and inquiries.
- Managing and maintaining the CRM, including timely follow-up with warm leads, prospects, and closed-loan customers.
- Managing the loan pipeline through scheduled pipeline reviews, daily tracking, and weekly customer status calls.
- Identifying and addressing issues throughout the loan process that could potentially impact loan approval or closing.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation throughout the loan process.
- Utilizing designated sales tools, systems, and reporting methods to track activity and performance.
- Providing a professional, responsive, and customer-focused experience throughout the mortgage process.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- 2–5 years of mortgage industry experience , preferably with experience across multiple areas of the loan process.
- Thorough knowledge of FHA, Conventional, VA, and USDA loan products and guidelines.
- Previous mortgage call center experience strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred .
- Active NMLS license preferred.

- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, Loan Officers, Processing, and other internal teams.
