Job summary

UGN Monroe in Ohio is seeking a Team Leader/Lead Production Operator to supervise production operators, coordinate with cells and departments, and drive cost, quality, and output.

You will train Team Members, develop standard work, conduct monthly audits, and ensure 5-S and safety paperwork are in place. This role requires leadership, clear communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ months related experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Able to read safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Experience writing routine reports.
• Experience speaking before groups of customers or Team Members.
• Strong math skills for rate, ratio, and percent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in developing Team Members in all TPS principles.
• Audit the cells to determine if raw materials, equipment, or a changeover is required to ensure efficient start-ups.
• Conduct meetings with Team Members at the beginning of each shift to communicate problems and concerns.
• Ensure all paperwork required by the Team Members is available.
• Monitor staffing needs and work with the Shift Coordinator to schedule coverage and training.
• Ensure 5-S activities are being performed and address if needed.
• Reassign Team Members when needed when downtime occurs.
• Represent UGN at customer locations when quality concerns are presented.
