Job description

Team Leader, ON, Dairy - Lakeland (Manufacturing)

Performing daily tasks within the work area as part of the team, including:

  1. Being an active on-the-floor participant with associates
  2. Covering for unplanned absences and vacations
  3. Understanding and maintaining department reports and procedures
  4. Coordinating breaks and lunch schedules
  5. Overseeing equipment maintenance, PMs, and work orders
  6. Assisting managers with associate scheduling
  7. Understanding production processes and executing department requirements
  8. Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  9. Promoting and enforcing quality and food safety standards
  10. Serving as a role model for associates
  11. Planning and conducting job skill training, including writing Skill Breakdown Sheets (SBSs) and conducting Job Instruction Training (JIT)
  12. Leading and driving plant operation improvements
  13. Analyzing KPIs and data
  14. Performing responsibilities of the Department Manager/Assistant Department Manager in their absence, such as production scheduling and planning
  15. Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • Ability to learn and perform all department positions
  • Understanding of plant policies, practices, procedures, and requirements
  • Ability to plan, organize, and follow through on assignments
  • Ability to obtain and operate a forklift license
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel for specialized training
  • High level of maturity, discretion, tact, and judgment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Thorough knowledge of GMPs
  • Ability to use industrial chemicals safely
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Demonstrated excellent work habits and safe working practices
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good human relations skills and team orientation
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours

Preferred qualifications include:
