Performing daily tasks in the work area as part of a team, including:
- Participating on the shop floor with associates
- Covering for unplanned absences and vacations
- Understanding and maintaining department reports and procedures
- Coordinating breaks and lunch schedules
- Overseeing equipment maintenance, PMs, and work orders
- Assisting managers with scheduling
- Understanding production processes and department requirements
- Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Promoting quality and food safety standards
- Serving as a role model for associates
- Planning and conducting job skill training, including writing Skill Breakdown Sheets (SBSs) and Job Instruction Training (JIT)
- Leading plant operation improvements
- Analyzing KPIs and data
- Performing duties of the Department Manager/Assistant in their absence, such as production scheduling and planning
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to learn all departmental positions
- Understanding of plant policies, practices, procedures, and requirements
- Ability to plan, organize, and follow through on assignments
- Ability to obtain and operate a forklift
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Willingness to travel for training
- High maturity, discretion, tact, and judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Thorough knowledge of GMPs
- Ability to handle industrial chemicals
- Basic mechanical skills
- Ability to climb ladders
- Excellent work habits and safety practices
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good human relations and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours

Preferred qualifications:
- Some college coursework in Business, Engineering, or Food Science
- Related departmental experience
