Job description

Team Leader NSW 1st Shift - Common Carrier

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators.

Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support services and act as first-line supervisor in a transactional operations area, utilizing existing systems and protocols.
  • Operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity, and develop solutions to complex inefficiencies.
  • Contribute data and information to production plans, run reports, verify accuracy, and distribute information.
  • Lead routine work teams; conduct employee training on equipment operations, work, and safety procedures, or delegate training to experienced workers.
  • Follow the organization's EHS policies, identify and mitigate environmental and workplace risks, and instruct the team in safe working methods.
  • Ensure work completion meets standards of productivity, quality, and timeliness; support quality functions within strict standards.
  • Provide guidance and informal advice to less experienced colleagues to develop their skills.
  • Develop understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory codes; obtain approval for any exceptions from standard procedures.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance on planning, organizing, prioritizing, and overseeing activities to meet business objectives.
  • Effective verbal communication skills; ability to express ideas, request actions, and formulate plans or policies clearly.
  • Manage and apply safe work systems independently; enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Develop, monitor, interpret, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures aligned with organizational strategies and objectives.
  • Use comprehensive knowledge to act independently and guide others in optimizing production plant, equipment, and materials utilization.
