Job summary

United Wholesale Mortgage, LLC is seeking a senior leader to head the Threat and Vulnerability team. The role oversees threat assessment, vulnerability management, and collaboration with security, IT, and operations to embed risk-informed decisions across the organization.

The position emphasizes developing metrics, reporting to senior management, and driving continuous improvement in security posture. Strong leadership and expert knowledge of frameworks and threat modeling are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
• Extensive experience in threat and vulnerability management with leadership.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Threat and Vulnerability Team, providing direction and support to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
• Threat Assessment: Oversee the identification and analysis of potential security threats and vulnerabilities across the organization. Ensure comprehensive assessments are conducted to prioritize risks appropriately.
• Vulnerability Management: Manage a robust vulnerability management program, including regular scans, assessments, and remediation efforts to address identified vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security, IT, and operations, to integrate threat and vulnerability management into the overall security strategy.
• Reporting and Metrics: Develop and maintain metrics and reporting to track the effectiveness of threat and vulnerability management initiatives. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest threat intelligence, security trends, and best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in threat and vulnerability management, information security, or a related area, with a proven track record of leadership.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
