Job summary

Ideal Tridon Group seeks a Team Leader for 1st shift at the Auburn Hills, MI plant to guide a production team, monitor performance and maintain safety and quality. You’ll coordinate daily tasks, train staff, and ensure smooth line operations with proactive communication to supervisors.

Requirements include 2+ years in a production role, team leadership experience, strong communication and problem-solving abilities, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a production facility.
• Minimum two years of Team Lead experience, leading teams, or groups of people.
• Minimum 2 years of production experience.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and guide team members.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Suggest improvements to processes and act as a knowledge resource for team members.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with full use of motor skills.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work for long periods of time while standing, sitting, walking.
• Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily activities of a production team in an assigned department area to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved.
• Validate or coordinate the work of others.
• Fill in for absences or when lines are down.
• Ensure processes are being followed.
• Perform quality checks and ensure quality of responsible areas.
• Gather and input data, equipment recovery and repair.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors.
• Train team members, delegate tasks and set deadlines.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, monitor team performance and report on KPI’s.
• Motivate team members and discover training needs.
• Provide coaching, resolve conflicts and recognize high performance, department safety, understand line or departmental schedules. Excellent attendance, keep equipment operational, Maintains knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment.

Summary

The Team Lead will manage our team members and provide effective guidance. Team Leads are responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members daily and as such are the contact point for all team members. Effective communication is key to this role and the ability to act proactively ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Ultimately, Team Leads should manage by setting a good example and engaging the team to achieve goals. This role has no authority for staff actions and reports to the shift supervisor.
