Job summary

UPMC Hamot is seeking a Team Leader for Environmental Services to oversee cleaning operations in patient rooms, public areas, and equipment. This full-time role runs 6:30am-3pm with weekend rotation coverage every third weekend.

You will supervise Environmental Services Aides, coordinate activities with nursing units and other departments, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Experience in hospital housekeeping preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising Environmental Services staff in a hospital setting.
• Ability to coordinate work with ES aides and other departments.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the shift supervisor, act in a supervisory capacity and assume shift duties.
• Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor.
• Communicate with unit personnel and departments to fulfill needs for assignments.
• Ensure daily work is assigned and team members operate in assigned areas.
• Monitor supplies and equipment and report shortages to the shift supervisor.
• Inspect areas to ensure cleanliness and repairs are satisfactory.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations and hospital policies.

This position is full-time, 6:30am-3pm. Coverage every third weekend required.

Purpose: Ensure the assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, and equipment are properly cleaned according to the procedures established by the Environmental Services Department. Work with and coordinate assigned Environmental Services Aides.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the shift supervisor, temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of the shift supervisor.
• Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor.
• Communicate with unit personnel and other departments regarding specific needs in order to complete assignments.
• Ensure that the daily work of all team members is assigned and that team members are working in assigned area.
• Ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available for subordinates. Report all problems to the shift supervisor.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
• Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
