Job summary

OWN, Inc. seeks a Senior Geotechnical Lead to guide projects from conception through delivery. You will manage client expectations, lead technical teams, and ensure quality, safety, and on-time results across civil, environmental, and field services projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 10-15 years of geotechnical investigations, materials testing, environmental assessments, or drilling.
  • Strong knowledge of field services principles and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical teams through every phase of the project lifecycle.
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure quality, schedule, and budget goals are achieved.
  • Lead project kickoffs, define scope, establish schedules and budgets, and monitor progress.
  • Implement and enforce QA/QC procedures and quality control processes on all projects.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies with Group Leaders.
  • Conduct project debriefs and promote continuous improvement in delivery and collaboration.
  • Champion a culture of safety for OWNers and clients.
  • Mentor and manage team members to support development and utilization.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and career guidance.
  • Support onboarding, training, and skill development initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day direction on workload and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience focused in geotechnical investigations, materials testing procedures, environmental assessments, and/or drilling techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of field services principles, practices, and industry standards.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects and resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Business acumen and a customer-focused mindset, with a track record of successfully growing client relationships and securing new business opportunities.
  • Familiarity with relevant geotechnical software and design tools.
  • Strong commitment to safety and the promotion of a safe work environment.
  • A drive for continuous improvement and innovation, seeking opportunities to enhance departmental processes and performance.
