Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Team Leader for Central Supply to oversee clerks, coordinate daily tasks, and drive efficiency in the supply chain. The role supports quality, safety, and continuous improvement while maintaining strong customer service standards.

The ideal candidate will have supervision experience, strong communication skills, and hands-on knowledge of Lawson, MMIS, and Pyxis systems. A High School diploma or GED is required, with the ability to lead and train staff.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and assigns staff to meet daily workload requirements and customer service needs.
  • Manages workflow and productivity through ongoing assessment of customer demand.
  • Identifies and resolves operational issues promptly using sound judgment; reports actions and outcomes to the supervisor for follow-up.
  • Serves as a resource for customers and coworkers regarding products, equipment, and processes.
  • Conducts daily inspections of supply areas and works with inventory coordinators to stock department.
  • Reviews paperwork and documentation for accuracy, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Performs random inspections of nurse servers to ensure organization, accuracy, and cleanliness.
  • Inspects equipment cleaning during each shift to verify cleanliness and safe, proper operating conditions.
  • Ensures proper handling and use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment by all employees.
  • Works closely with supervisor to documents employee technical skills, customer service performance, work quality, and productivity through recognition tools.
  • Utilizes email, Microsoft Word, and Excel effectively for communication, reporting, and documentation.
  • Provides clear, concise, and comprehensive analyses related to departmental assignments and special projects.
  • Supports process improvement initiatives; actively promotes departmental goals and positive changes to enhance overall service.
  • Communicates routinely with the supervisor and manager regarding departmental operations, concerns, and performance.
  • Attends at least two management training sessions annually to strengthen supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Inspects a minimum of 10 PAR locations weekly; corrects identified issues and documents results for use in employee performance evaluations.
  • Works with department trainer to assist with training new employees and actively participates in onboarding and ongoing employee support.
  • Works with department trainer to ensure all employees receive required training as scheduled on systems and programs including Lawson, MMIS, and Pyxis Supply Stations.
  • Performs central supply clerk duties as required.

Job Description

The Team Leader oversees Central Supply Clerks by coordinating daily assignments, directing workflow and productivity based on customer needs, and ensuring timely completion of workloads.
