Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced education in Animal Science or Business preferred.
• Prior leadership experience 1-3 years in Animal Care / PSS.
• Ability to shower daily upon arrival and wear company issued attire.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs on occasion.
• Ability to stand/walk on concrete for at least 2-6 hours at a time.
• English communication – reading, writing and oral.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint) with willingness and ability to learn company‑specific systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day workload for assigned teams and train technicians on relevant techniques and information.
• Perform duties of a Laboratory Animal Care Technician and support department shipping duties.
• Ensure procedures comply with Animal Welfare regulations, ISO 9001, IACUC regulations.
• Evaluate issues, concerns, and elevate accordingly.
• Oversee improvements in workflows and monitor quality and safety standards.
• Provide coaching, development, and real‑time feedback on performance.
• Promote safety, trust, respect, accountability, collaboration, and teamwork.
• Handle high volume documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Understand genotype results for animal selection where applicable.
• Report incidents with urgency and guide corrective actions.
• Course correct practices and align with organizational standards.
