Pay Rate: $26.03 /HR + $2 Shift Diff

Summary
A team leader will coordinate the activities of all production personnel to ensure maximum productivity within safety guidelines. This position has overall responsibility for safety on the line and must communicate well with all employees to effectively supervise their work.
Responsibilities
· Ensure each employee adheres to proper safety policies and procedures at all times, such as wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Enforce safety rules by taking appropriate actions in case of violations, including reporting any violation to management or Human Resources.
· Respond quickly to all injuries or illnesses that occur while working under this supervisor’s direction. Promptly complete all required injury reports.
· Be able to recognize hazards in the workplace and take corrective action where possible.
· Train new and existing employees on safe practices and procedures.
· Perform routine checks of tools and equipment to make sure they are safe and functioning properly.
· Communicate regularly with employees about safety issues and concerns.
· Ensure good housekeeping practices throughout the facility; comply with all regulatory requirements related to environmental matters.
· Maintain a positive attitude toward all Sonoco Policies and Procedures.
· Coach, mentor, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel on a regular basis.
· Work closely with the Operations Manager to resolve any production-related problems.
· Provide input into performance evaluations for direct reports.
· Make recommendations for hiring, firing, promotions, and other disciplinary actions.
· Assist in developing schedules to meet production demands.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
· Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Proficient computer skills.
· Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
· Requires good interpersonal skills, decision making ability, and the ability to interact professionally with both internal and external customers.
· Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising others.
· Flexibility to adapt in a variety of situations.
· Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move around the warehouse environment.
