Position: Team Lead 1

Location: Carrollton, GA

Pay Rate: $26.03 /HR + $2 Shift Diff

Position Summary

A team leader will coordinate all production personnel activities to ensure maximum productivity within safety guidelines. This role is responsible for safety on the line and effective communication with employees to supervise their work.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements.
  2. Enforce safety rules and report violations to management or HR.
  3. Respond promptly to injuries or illnesses, completing required reports.
  4. Recognize workplace hazards and take corrective actions.
  5. Train employees on safe practices and procedures.
  6. Perform routine checks on tools and equipment for safety and functionality.
  7. Communicate safety concerns regularly with staff.
  8. Maintain good housekeeping and comply with environmental regulations.
  9. Promote positive attitude towards Sonoco policies and procedures.
  10. Coach, mentor, motivate, and evaluate team members regularly.
  11. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to resolve production issues.
  12. Contribute to performance evaluations and recommend hiring, firing, or disciplinary actions.
  13. Assist in developing production schedules to meet demands.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and decision-making skills, with professional interaction capabilities.
  • Leadership experience supervising others.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move around the warehouse environment.
