2nd Shift
- Oversee the setup and safe operation of the department. Delegate authority and responsibility while maintaining control.
- Organize the department to meet production schedules and quality goals. Coordinate efforts of individuals and the department.
- Have knowledge of the technical aspects of equipment, processes, and tools. Work with manufacturing, maintenance, tool & die, and management to ensure efficient operation of cells and plant.
- Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and promptly: uptime sheets, production reports, tags, checklists, pareto charts, efficiency reports, etc.
- Teach, train, coach, and assist team members in setup procedures and audit team performance.
- Verify machine parameters, including safety features like palm button safety.
- Responsible for periodic cycle checks.
- Promote teamwork, quality, good housekeeping, and ensure a safe work environment.
- Assist Area Manager in cost-saving activities by generating ideas and helping implement them.
- Authority and responsibility to start/stop production, address operational and quality issues, and use measuring instruments to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Use checklists and pareto charts to monitor production and machinery status, seeking assistance as needed.
- Lead daily team meetings to plan and communicate shift activities.
- Coordinate rotation of job assignments for team members.
- Evaluate team members' performance according to schedule.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a safe working environment, including PPE use and safety rule compliance.
- Ensure adherence to TS16949 operator instructions, tagging, forms, and logs for compliance.
- Communicate and coordinate information flow within the organization.
- Coordinate activities with council members and provide input opportunities.
- Must have problem-solving skills and the ability to generate alternative solutions.
- Understand organizational structure, policies, culture, resources, and information sources.
- Collaborate with area managers on job assignments, performance issues, maintenance, and inventory needs.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude, treating all team members with dignity and respect.
- Perform any tasks necessary to meet company goals and requirements.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass required testing and interview; good attendance is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent; ability to attend vocational training in areas like Positive Leadership, Quick Die Change, Team Building, Continuous Improvement, and Kaizen participation. Good oral and written communication skills.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand on concrete floors, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend, and use arms/hands. Occasionally exert 25-50 pounds, frequently 5-25 pounds. Visual acuity for inspecting parts, reading documents, gauges, and measuring instruments.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Operate in a stamping and assembly environment with high noise levels and physical hazards. Expected to work in all production areas to promote productivity, quality, and safety.
