Shift: 2nd Shift

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the incumbent is responsible for aiding team members through training, coaching, and assisting them in achieving their job duties. This includes encouraging and ensuring that team members work safely, while producing quality parts at a minimum cost. The role also involves responding to the needs of those who depend on the supervisor as a leader, trainer, and a catalyst for change.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Ensure team members work safely, produce quality parts, meet production goals, and solve problems on the shop floor.
  2. Prevent the recurrence of non-conforming parts by generating ideas to detect or eliminate issues.
  3. Audit team performance.
  4. Coordinate manufacturing activities.
  5. Establish procedures for process control implementation.
  6. Assist with cross-training to develop multi-functional employees.
  7. Teach, train, coach, and assist team members; authority to discipline as needed.
  8. Assist in scheduling overtime and die set-up.
  9. Gather and analyze MOS information.
  10. Prepare daily and weekly production reports.
  11. Participate in LTA activities to reduce costs or improve performance under the oversight of the area manager.
  12. Schedule shift production and oversee time card accuracy.
  13. Attend production, safety, quality, and current event meetings.
  14. Maintain employee relations policies and safety regulations.
  15. Ensure quality standards are maintained; authorized to halt jobs if quality issues arise.
  16. Maintain housekeeping standards at the plant level.
  17. Perform other essential functions as assigned.
Qualifications

Training and Experience: Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent, technical background preferred. At least one year of floor experience, supervisory skills, and cross-training in all jobs.

Skills

Computer literacy, good verbal and written communication skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Available for any shift. Ability to stand, walk, talk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend, and use arms and hands. Frequently exert up to 25 pounds of force; occasionally up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity for inspecting parts and reading documents and gauges.

Working Conditions

Normal factory environment with hazards such as loud noise, moving equipment, fumes, and dust. Flexibility to work in all production areas to promote productivity, quality, and safety.
