Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of directly related experience.
  • Vocational training may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and safety procedures; strong math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production staff to meet safety, production and quality standards.
  • Provide training, direction, and accountability to the team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and PPE requirements.
  • Coordinate with crane, rigging and material handling on site.
  • Lead continuous improvement and model safe work practices.

Must have experience with crane, rigging and forklifts to manage and move steel material as needed. Critical to the production process this position Directs and assists employees to perform such duties ensuring production needs are met. We are looking for a professional with a growth mindset who desires a progressive career move.Core ResponsibilitiesEnsures that production staff is adhering to all applicable safety standards through training and accountability;Provides guidance, instruction, direction and leadership while directly supervising production staff to meet the established production and quality standards;Provides the team with the vision of the project objectives;Provides motivation and accountability to the team;Responsible for providing training to production staff as needed;Responsible for holding employees accountable to established and maintain production and quality standards.Encourages constant improvement and leads by example;Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirementsEducation/Training – Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED), and at least three (3) years of directly related experience; completion of a closely related vocational training course though an accredited school may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & LicensesEquipment Knowledge & Skills – Knowledge of welding and steel-working process and equipment may include but not limited to cranes and rigging, forkliftsLanguage Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.Reasoning Ability: Understand the safe and proper operation of common machinery in a steel fabrication environment; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None.Schuff Steel Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer*Recruiters* - Resumes submitted without current/valid vendor agreement will become property of DBM Global Inc.
