Job summary

DBM Global is seeking a Production Helper in Kansas to assist in fabricating structural metal products for buildings, bridges, and industrial projects. You will lift, position, and move pieces, load materials, and maintain cleanliness on the shop floor while supporting welders and machine operators.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to pass a tacking test for Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead positions, and strict adherence to safety rules and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lifts, positions, and moves workpieces for fit and weld preparation.
  • Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, and dies by hand or with a forklift.
  • Cleans and scrapes metal prior to fabrication, welding, painting, or shipping.
  • Assists with scrap pickup and cleanup of work areas.
  • Supports fellow workers and follows safety protocols.
  • Passes tacking test on Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead.

We are looking for a professional with a growth mindset who desires a progressive long-term career.Core ResponsibilitiesLifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.Perform other routine duties.Assist fellow employees as directed.Pass the tacking test on the following positions: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead.Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirementsEducation/Training - Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 12 months experienceSpecialized Knowledge – Certificates & LicensesEquipment Knowledge & Skills – Equipment generally used includes but is not limited to overhead cranes, forklifts and hand grinders.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
