Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking a 1st shift Copper Assembly Team Leader to guide a crew in installing, dismantling and maintaining industrial copper equipment. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient operations and timely execution of tasks.

The Team Leader will supervise a shift, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure adherence to procedures, quality standards and safety documentation. Occasional travel to other sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs and repairs industrial machinery per layout plans and drawings.
• Dismantles equipment using hand/power tools; moves machines using hoists, cranes, and forklift.
• Performs machine alignment and scheduled maintenance inspections.
• Calculates rigging loads based on center of gravity and lifting points.
• Keeps safety and productivity for the shift team; communicates with supervisor.
• Receives and disseminates instructions from supervisors or senior managers.
• Trains group members and participates in performance appraisals as needed.
• Maintains production schedules and ensures quality standards are met.
• Ensures proper operational and safety documentation is completed.

We are currently recruiting to fill the role of 1st shift Copper Assembly Team Leader.

The Team Leader will spend more than 90% of work hours performing mechanical maintenance tasks similar to those of other group members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions
• Dismantles equipment and machines using hand and power tools; moves machinery and equipment using hoists, cranes, and forklift
• May perform machine alignment
• Performs scheduled inspection and maintenance
• Knowledge required to calculate the rigging load based on center of gravity, lifting points and any special rigging required
• Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift, crew, or function
• Receives and disseminates written and verbal instruction, direction and training from Supervisor or other Senior Managers

In the absence of the Supervisor, the Team Leader will

• Train group members and may participate in performance appraisal process
• Operate from a broad scope of responsibility to maintain production schedules and to ensure quality standards are met
• Enable effective communications between management and operators
• Enforce processing procedures and policies
• Ensure completion of operational documentation for assigned group, such as travelers, map sheets, job router, work requests to other departments, etc.
• Ensure completion of safety documentation for assigned group, such as first reports of injury, environmental mishaps, JSA’s, etc.
• Occasional travel to other locations may be required
