Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking a 1st shift Copper Assembly Team Leader to supervise mechanical maintenance and assembly activities on copper equipment. You will lead a team, ensure production schedules, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role focuses on dismantling, moving, assembling, installing, and repairing industrial machinery, training group members, and maintaining operational documentation while collaborating with supervisors and senior managers.

Responsibilities

• Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
• Dismantles equipment and machines using hand and power tools; moves machinery and equipment using hoists, cranes, and forklift.
• May perform machine alignment.
• Performs scheduled inspection and maintenance.
• Knowledge required to calculate the rigging load based on center of gravity, lifting points and any special rigging required.
• Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift, crew, or function.
• Receives and disseminates written and verbal instruction, direction and training from Supervisor or other Senior Managers.
• Train group members and may participate in performance appraisal process.
• Operate from a broad scope of responsibility to maintain production schedules and to ensure quality standards are met.
• Enable effective communications between management and operators.
• Enforce processing procedures and policies.
• Ensure completion of operational documentation for assigned group, such as travelers, map sheets, job router, work requests to other departments, etc.
• Ensure completion of safety documentation for assigned group, such as first reports of injury, environmental mishaps, JSA’s, etc.
• Occasional travel to other locations may be required

We are currently recruiting to fill the role of 1st shift Copper Assembly Team Leader.

The Team Leader will spend more than 90% of work hours performing mechanical maintenance tasks similar to those of other group members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
