Overall Job Summary

The Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with the execution of operational, sales, and merchandising objectives by delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. The Team Leader is also responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, as well as training Team Members on the appropriate application of policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  2. Work scheduled shifts, and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
  3. Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
  4. Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet the Customer, Uncover Needs & Wants, Recommend Solutions, Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
  5. Perform a variety of duties including merchandising, opening/closing, banking, assessing store conditions, organizing workflow, merchandise recovery, price changes, resolving customer issues, adhering to loss prevention standards, communicating with team members, operating cash registers, and ensuring safety and cleanliness.
  6. Ensure the safety and well-being of birds, operate equipment like forklifts and balers, complete documentation, and obtain necessary licenses or certifications.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically.
  • Ability to perform all team member responsibilities.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and outdoor work, moderate noise, varying shifts, and weather conditions.
  • Adherence to safety guidelines.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move merchandise, lift weights, stand for long periods, and operate store equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and complete training and certifications.
