Responsible for off-loading inbound shipments, verifying received goods and forward to QA for inbound inspections. Responsible for out-bound shipments, to include preparing finished product for shipment per customers’ requirements. Partner with Supervisor on team performance, attendance, safety and overall job duties. Assist with training and development of warehouse staff, inventory and supplies. Engaged in all warehouse activities including receiving, stocking, processing, inventory control, returns, shipping, safety, and loss prevention. Communicate regularly with appropriate management. Based on business needs, overtime may be required, including Saturday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform and direct all shipping tasks, following approved work instructions and established departmental and/or customer procedures involved with packing and shipping product under minimal supervision.
  • Perform and direct all receiving tasks, following approved work instructions and established departmental procedures involved with unloading and verifying product under minimal supervision.
  • Transport materials, parts, supplies and equipment as well as packing and shipping product throughout the department.
  • Ensure shipping supplies, boxes, bubble wrap, tape, etc., are in stock, inform Supervisor to reorder levels.
  • Verify physical counts to shipping documentation to assure accuracy prior to shipping.
  • Provide training/cross-training in equipment and process operations as needed.
  • May act as the "go to" person when assistance with procedures, equipment, or information is needed.
  • Review processes for improvement, assist with implementation and maintain as directed by the department supervisor.
  • Consolidate inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness of inventory in locations, i.e., discard broken, unstable pallets, monitor area for waste/trash.
  • Coordinate, clarify and prioritize shipping and receiving functions.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for damage and correct labeling.
  • Generate packing slips, bill of ladings, invoices, shipper’s letter of instructions, shipper’s Export Declaration or other required documentation used to ship product via approved carriers.
  • Oversee compliance of practices and maintain an orderly and safe warehouse and shipping area.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship and open lines of communication with all departments to ensure Department, Company, and Customer goals are achieved.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend a large majority of time walking, standing and using hands to push/pull. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is required to lift and/or move up to 20 to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally with two-person lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
