Job summary

Bird is seeking a Team Lead in Saint Louis, MO to manage and coach warehouse and fleet personnel, driving efficiency and safety. You will monitor asset health, oversee scheduling, and serve as the main point of contact for internal teams. Shift hours are 9am to 5:00pm Wednesday to Sunday, with potential for overnight coverage. Pay is $20/hr, with benefits including healthcare and ride credits.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience leading warehouse and driver personnel.
• 18+ years old with 2+ years driving experience and a valid driver’s license.
• Proficient with spreadsheets and web tools; strong math and quick software learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; fluent English.
• 4+ years as warehouse supervisor or related leadership role is a plus.
• Degree in Operations, Transportation/Logistics, Business or STEM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan deployment and monitor fleet efficiency using internal dashboards and route planner.
• Oversee warehouse operations to maintain asset health and repair productivity.

• Track key metrics and audit team performance using spreadsheets and internal tools.
• Coordinate schedules for hourly team members and cover roles as needed, including nights/weekends.
• Serve as local point of contact for other internal teams.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Team Lead to join our dynamic team at Bird through our trusted staffing partner, TalentBurst, to ensure our fleet remains in excellent working condition. You'll be managing and coaching warehouse and fleet personnel to ensure high performance, morale, and safety compliance. Ultimately, you'll drive operational efficiency through strategic planning, fleet monitoring and metric tracking. You'll oversee asset health, repair productivity, and hourly team scheduling, serving as the main point of contract and providing coverage for all role, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Training, managing, coaching, and motivating personnel to achieve prompt attendance, superior performance, and good morale
• Deployment planning and fleet monitoring to ensure Operations Specialists' efficiency using internal dashboard and route planner
• Oversee warehouse operations to ensure asset health and repair productivity among Maintenance Specialists
• Maintain Fleet Ops team safety culture inside and outside the warehouse, including COVID compliance, charging safety, PPE supply, incident reporting, and hazard mitigation
• Closely track key operational metrics and audit team performance using spreadsheets and internal tools
• Coordinate schedules of all hourly team members; step up to perform the duties of a Shift Lead, Maintenance Lead, Operations Specialist, or Maintenance Specialist if needed
• Serve as our local point of contact for other internal teams
• This role could work weekends + nights

Must Have

• 2-4 years of experience leading warehouse and driver personnel in operations, logistics, distribution, or related sectors
• 18+ year of age, with a minimum of 2 years driving experience, and a valid driver's license
• Technical background: familiarity with spreadsheets and web tools, proficiency with math, technical savvy to quickly learn new software
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Proficient in English (firmly required)

Highly Desired

• 4+ years of experience as a warehouse supervisor working in operations, logistics, distribution, tech, or related sectors
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations, Transportation/Logistics, Business or any STEM field
• Familiarity with local streets and neighbourhoods
• Results-orientation and proactive problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry scooters/e-bikes, related components/parts, and tools weighing up to 80-90 lbs scooters (with or without reasonable accommodation)

Shift Hours: 9am to 5:00pm (Wednesday - Sunday), with availability for intermittent overnight shifts

Pay: $20/hr
