Job Description

Responsible for assigning responsibilities to department personnel and coordinating department activities and personnel. Monitors department's performance for safety, quality, and productivity.

  1. Assigns work and guides department personnel in completion of assignments in accordance with production schedules, utilizing labor and equipment in the most efficient manner.
  2. Performs duties of supervisor when unavailable.
  3. May be called upon to perform functions at the direction of the department supervisor:
  4. Trains department workers on assignments, ensuring proper performance and work habits.
  5. Keeps supervisor informed of personnel issues for prompt action.
  6. Implements new ideas and improved methods or processes in completing assignments.
  7. Completes departmental paperwork as required.
  8. Monitors department to ensure adherence to quality procedures and process instructions.
  9. Maintains areas to be neat, clean, organized, and under control.
  10. Ensures quality and safety of own work and compliance with all company procedures and policies.
Position Requirements

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent and six months' experience in a manufacturing setting.
