Job summary

Nordic Fiberglass is seeking a Production Lead to support the Production Supervisor, ensuring safe, on-schedule manufacturing of fiberglass products for the electrical industry. You will liaise between front-line staff and management and help maintain quality and efficiency on the production floor.

The role requires leadership experience, strong communication, and the ability to train staff in safety and technical procedures. This on-site position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience in production/manufacturing required; concrete manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team; demonstrate reliability and positive attitude.
  • Experience leading people is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic tools and their uses; ability to read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce policies and safety regulations, reporting issues to management.
  • Enter safety information into compliance software as directed.
  • Execute production schedule and identify gaps or changes.
  • Fill in by working in production when gaps are noted.
  • Ensure training in compliance, safety or technical areas as needed.
  • Lead shift meetings and communicate information to staff as directed by management.
  • Coordinate with other departments to share information.
  • Inspect work progress and equipment to verify safety and specifications.
  • Maintain open communication between team members and management.

Job Summary

Nordic Fiberglass is the leading manufacturer of fiberglass products for the underground electrical industry. The Production Lead will work directly supporting the Production Supervisor to ensure that all assignments for the team are carried out safely and successfully. They will execute on posted schedules and inform employees of important information as directed by the Supervisor, acting as a liaison between the front-line employees and management. This individual will be responsible for making quality fiberglass products for the Electrical Industry.

Job Responsibilities
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations, reporting any issues identified immediately to management, or address them directly if needed.
  • Enter safety related information into company compliance software as directed.
  • Execute production schedule as posted and determine if there are any gaps present or changes needed.
  • Fill in by working in production when gaps are noted.
  • Ensure that employees receive appropriate training i.e., compliance, safety or technical training as needed.
  • Package production documents for processing.
  • Maintain accurate attendance information and authorize work schedules according to the guidelines for payroll purposes.
  • Can be asked to lead shift meetings and communicate information to employees as directed by their manager.
  • Communicate with other departments to share information as directed.
  • Examine and inspect work progress and equipment to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met.
  • Maintain open lines of communication between team members and management.
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in production/manufacturing required, experience in a concrete manufacturing setting a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Demonstrated role model including, good attendance record and positive attitude.
  • Experience leading people in some capacity is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic tools and their uses.
  • Understand and apply basic math skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to work in plant production environment involving indoor & outdoor work, exposure to noise, dust, and in proximity to hot equipment.
  • This job involves walking, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, climbing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items.
  • Knowledge of basic tools and their uses.
  • Team oriented.
  • Understand and apply basic math skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication).
  • Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure.
  • Knowledge of computer software.
Compensation
  • The hourly pay rate is $25.00
  • This position may also be eligible for (skill and/or) team lead pay differentials that will be in addition to starting pay rate.
