If you’re passionate about community spaces, operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams - this role is for you.

What YOU’RE Responsible for:
Leading Daily Parks Operations

  • Supervising full-time and seasonal staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and promoting a strong team culture
  • Overseeing contractors to ensure safety, quality control, and compliance with contract requirements
  • Coordinating equipment and fleet maintenance in collaboration with the Fleet Coordinator

  • Monitoring weather conditions and responding to after-hours or emergency situations as required
Service Delivery & Community Engagement
  • Investigating and responding to service requests from residents, contractors, and internal departments
  • Providing clear, professional communication — including education and de-escalation when necessary
  • Maintaining detailed records and ensuring timely closure of service requests
  • Review and provide comments on park and trail components of various residential and commercial applications, ranging from high level documents such as Area Structure Plans to detailed civil engineering drawings
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Leading the implementation of the City’s Health & Safety Program, including Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA), inspections, and incident reporting
  • Ensuring staff adhere to safety standards and wear appropriate PPE
  • Conducting playground safety inspections (CAN/CSA-Z614) and ensuring public-facing amenities are safe and compliant
  • Supporting contractor safety oversight and compliance
Operational Planning & Budget Support
  • Assisting with budget planning and monitoring expenditures within approved operating and capital budgets
  • Strategically allocating staff, equipment, and contractor resources to meet service levels
  • Procurring materials and supplies in alignment with budget and operational needs
  • Providing technical input on access permits and operational projects
What YOU Bring:

  • Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education (equivalencies will be considered)
  • Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Q endorsement and clean driver’s abstract
  • Clean Criminal Records Check

  • Experience with equipment operation and maintenance
  • Sound understanding of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, safety legislation, and best practices
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software
Certifications (Must have or be willing to obtain within the first 18 months of employment):

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation
