Job summary

FMH-Conveyors in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a Team Lead - Materials to proactively plan raw materials for the department in a safe and timely manner. You will lead the area, directing personnel and equipment while aligning with section policies and using ERP/MRP data and drawings to guide production.

You will partner with Sales Operations, Engineering, Finance, and HR to meet budgets, drive lean initiatives, 5S, safety and training, and to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; ERP/MRP familiarity preferred.
  • Ability to lead a production team and meet schedules.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Team Lead - Materials is responsible for proactively planning the raw materials for the department in a safe and timely manner. The Team Lead - Materials is responsible for their assigned area and all personnel and equipment associated in this area. This person effectively guides the workforce, interpreting section policies and procedures and utilizes company computer software and approved drawings to direct the activities and team members within their area of production responsibility.The Team Lead is a member of the Manufacturing Operations team and collaborates with the other functional teams (Sales Operations, Engineering, Finance, Materials & HR) on executing company strategies, meeting budgets and the work unit planned processes. They are expected to support, design, develop, and to implement processes and metrics in all areas of manufacturing including, but not limited to, lean, 5S, workplace safety, onboarding, and training. In addition, this person must demonstrate hands-on leadership in unison with the Production Manager and Director of Manufacturing Operations on implementing strong cultural beliefs and values throughout the organization.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides daily direction and leadership to the product line’s team members.Understands and adheres to the Company handbook.Understands and adheres to section policies and procedures.Must have the ability to perform activities utilizing all machinery and equipment in the assigned section.Promotes continuous improvement within the department and the organization.Must have the ability to examine items produced to determine if items meet specifications.Follows documented manufacturing/assembly processes using the operation’s procedures.Recommends measures to improve section production methods and overall effectiveness of product line.Coordinates daily/weekly/monthly provided schedule to meet delivery demands.Monitors the quality, quantity, and efficiency of products produced by team members.Maintains collaborative relationships with the team members and is focused on producing excellent products safely and on time.Works with each team member in the area to provide them opportunity to be cross-trained and to meet other training opportunities.Ensures that goals are met and sustained daily/weekly/monthly.Observes safety and security procedures; Uses equipment and materials properly; Reports potentially unsafe conditions.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: High School DiplomaUnderstanding of ERP/MRP systems.Displays original thinking and creativity; meets challenges with resourcefulness; generates suggestions for improving work/processes.Strong leadership skillsLearns quickly when facing new problems; open to change; strives for continuous improvement of self and processes.Excellent communication (oral and written)Ability to perform basic math including use of whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Must be able to read a tape measure and read simple blueprints.Knowledge of productionExperience with lean concepts and toolsStrong analytical, administrative, and organizational skillsHelp maintain DMS boardPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Stand, walk, or be mobile for up to a 10-12-hour shift; ascend, squat, push and pull up to 75 lbs.; bend, twist and reach with hands and arms to feel objects, tools or controls, check and inspect product. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Factory shop floor
